Vanda Coatings re-sprayed the signage of the independent French Restaurant, Entrecote in Mermaid Quay overlooking Cardiff Bay. The main reason for the re-spray was to change the colour from the yellowy cream (shown on the top right photo) to the crisp white (bottom right photo) in order to match the monochrome design of the premises. Obviously, a re-coat also results in a finish that looks as good as new and is much cheaper than replacing the whole sign. Re-painting also protects the underlying metalwork from environmental abrasions such as wind and rain, therefore increasing the life of the sign.
The Entrecote sign was sprayed electrostatically, so the intricate details of the lettering inside a black outline were perfectly re-coated. This process results in hardly any overspray as there is a 98% transference rate of paint to the surface, but our Vanda team was still careful to prepare everything thoroughly which meant masking off the surrounding area. The restaurant owners were extremely satisfied with the standard of our work and the Entrecote continues to get rave reviews.
